HauteXpressions Most Frequently Asked Questions
1. What's the difference between Indian Remy hair and Indian Virgin hair?
The difference between Indian Virgin Hair and Indian Remy Hair is that Indian Virgin hair is collected by donors and unprocessed. The cuticles lay in one direction and the Virgin Hair has more cuticles than Indian Remy Hair. Indian remy hair is processed hair, and the cuticles are not laying in one direction. Note: We do not advise a small curl pattern or light hair color for Indian Remy Hair.
2. What's the difference between the Regular Lace caps vs. Swiss Lace for Lace Wigs?
Regular lace is normally imported from Korea. Regular lace is less expensive than Swiss lace. Regular lace is also thicker than Swiss lace. Swiss lace is very thin, and it is very comfortable to be worn. Swiss lace provides a very natural hairline.
3. What products do you recommend to keep the hair from tangling?
HauteXpressions provides high quality 100% Virgin hair. We recommend choosing from our wide selection of virgin hair for the best durable results. Virgin hair does not tangle. Note: When washing your hair peices, do not scrub, and do not use hot water.
4. What's the standard time frame for receiving custome hair orders via postal mail?
For custom wefts, top pieces, and hair extension orders, our standard production time frame is 15 days. For custom wig orders, the standard production time frame is 22-25 days and 2 to 3 days for shipping. For all rush orders, production will take 15 days.
5. What is the minimum required order for a full head installation for pre-tipped hair? What would that equate to in grams?
The required order is 100-150 strands of pre-tipped hair for a full head installation. Pre-tipped hair is ordered in grams.
(Close estimates: Inner Packing: 12”-16”,0.5g/strand 18”-20”,0.7g/strand 22”-24”,0.8g/strand 26”-28”,1g/strand.)
6. Are there any chemicals on the hair?
There are no chemicals used on virgin hair. Remy Hair does include chemicals and requires an acid wash.
7. Do you sell clip-in ponytails?
Sorry, at this time, HauteXpressions does not carry clip-in ponytails. We do sell amazing clip-in hair extension sets which can be installed to pull hair back into a ponytail.
8. What's the difference between hand-tied weft extensions vs. machine-made wefts?
Hand-tied weft extensions are made by hand. They are much thinner than machine weft extensions. Machine weft extensions have a thicker weft and are more popular than hand-tied wefts.
10. Can you use Keratin Products on your extensions and wigs?
No. We do not recommend using keratin products on extensions or wigs, virgin or remy hair. Note: Pay close attention to your choice of shampoos and conditioners. Keratin is found in many over the counter products.
11. What's the difference between a general knot, bleached knot, and double knot? What's the most durable?
Bleached knots are knots that have been carefully bleached so the color of the knots will closely match your scalp. Bleached knots are not noticeable in appearance. Double knots are knotted or tied on the lace. This method results in a very tight bond due to a dual knot process. Double knots do not shed and the hair is considered to be most durable.
